Sherlock Holmes – A high functioning sociopath under cover of a genius eccentric detective?
Watch party, Crime series, Actor Benedict Cumberbatch · Martin Freeman · Mark Gatiss · Andrew Scott, Mystery, Comedy, Thriller, Adventure, Action fiction
Not being a trite and verbose style, Arthur Conan Doyle – a prolific British writer for crime series – did create a legend, Sherlock Holmes. Ideas were jot down when Doyle founded “A Study in Scarlet” in 1887, making Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson become the most famous detective duo in literature history.
I would say the series on Netflix excellently portrayed those genius minds, both author and characters (and actors too). In a few seconds watching the movie, I believed that they would be attracted to each other in homosexuality relationship, between a consulting detective and his friend, a chronicler Watson, let’s be honest. Rather, I took pleasure in two guys making fun of each other about “tittles” on Watson’s blogs that he named for Sherlock’s murder investigations.
From scratch, the soldier couldn’t make head nor tail of how and why and what for reasons can Sherlock guess about everyone through just a glance, including Watson. After facing the headwinds, this intelligent pair broke the norms (most of the time in Series 1, Sherlock are the one) and solved all the puzzles in leaps and bounds. That’s what I am extremely fond of British film industry, very concise and straightforward, saving my time but still thought-provoking and racking my brain.
This art work proves:
1. When you are crazy about something that you love, don’t fucking care about other people’s thinking and never need to tighten yourself into any obsolete human rules regarding the “common timeline” or “aging issues” or anything. Like Sherlock did with his “private detective role” playing around with murder, mystery and mayhem, even every other person constantly ridiculed him as “freak”, “psychopath”.
Alright then be comfortable to get on someone’s nerves, for God’s sake! Of course it’s not you exert a negative impact like harm or kill people physically and mentally, just AVOID SATISFYING EVERYONE! Please focus on what you have to do and keep doing it WHENEVER YOU WANT with WHATEVER YOUR PASSION IS..
2. Learn to give up the unnecessary Bullshits to make room for things really matters to you.
As my man theorized:
“I consider that a man’s brain originally is like a little empty attic, and you have to stock it with such furniture as you choose. A fool takes in all the lumber of every sort that he comes across, so that the knowledge which might be useful to him gets crowded out, or at best is jumbled up with a lot of other things, so that he has difficulty laying his hands upon it. Now the skillful workman is very careful indeed as to what he takes into his brain-attic. He will have nothing but the tools which may help him in doing his work, but of these he has a large assortment, and all in the most perfect order. It is a mistake to think that that little room has elastic walls and can distend to any extent. Depend upon it there comes a time when for every addition of knowledge you forget something that you knew before. It is of the highest importance, therefore, not to have useless facts elbowing out the useful ones.”
“But the Solar System!” [Dr. Watson] protested.
“What of the deuce is it to me?” he interrupted impatiently: “you say that we go round the sun. If we went round the moon it would not make a pennyworth of difference to me or to my work.”
— Arthur Conan Doyle
3. “My name is Sherlock Holmes. It is my business to know what other people do not know.” — Arthur Conan Doyle, ‘The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle’.
Be yourself. Believe in yourself. Be grateful for what you are, what you’re good at and what you madly like. Be resilient to make people believe in what you did.
Be bold, and don’t be scared (of people).
4. “There is nothing more deceptive than an obvious fact.” — Arthur Conan Doyle, ‘The Boscombe Valley Mystery’.
Don’t guess, or whatever make assumption even if you see something very obvious. Try to turn the tide once. It would be a real nuisance but everything can happen owing to “Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent.” — Arthur Conan Doyle, ‘A Case Of Identity’.
5. “There is nothing more stimulating than a case where everything goes against you.” — Arthur Conan Doyle, ‘Three Broken Threads.
Not only in a murder case, it also applies on how you treat people. Sooner or later, it would become your Achilles heel unless you adapt to an unfamiliar situation where you are NOT THE WINNER or NOT SAYING THE RIGHT THINGS all the time or some skeptics always CHALLENGE YOUR POV.
Let’s think differently. You value the diversity, the difference, the uniqueness, so it’s GOOD FOR YOU to learn sth new from those contradicts from different individuals; not the other way around, insist that they’re aggressive and going against you. Calm down to make it more logical and gently persuade people.
6. When you are depressed about life and fail to make decision, endeavor to take in these quotes by Arthur Conan Doyle and you’ll be completely hooked:
“Come at once if convenient. If inconvenient, come all the same.” Just keep trying, make mistakes and accept failures. Don’t wait for a “perfectly convenient” circumstance to start something.
“My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work, give me the most abstruse cryptogram, or the most intricate analysis, and I am in my own proper atmosphere.” Agree that BUSY IS GOOD SOMETIMES actually. Being BUSY with work can help remove your poor mentality.
“Most people, if you describe a train of events to them, will tell you what the result would be. They can put those events together in their minds, and argue from them that something will come to pass. There are few people, however, who, if told them a result, would be able to evolve from their own inner consciousness what the steps were which led up to that result. This power is what I mean when I talk of reasoning backward, or analytically.” Don’t ever believe in your illusion or guestimation about anything that you’ve never experienced! Fuck open your mind and JUST TRY IT, EMBRACE IT BY MAKING A MOVE, TAKING ACTION dude.
TBH, I wish I got a DVD to rewatch these brilliant actors Benedict and Martin x 1000 times. Tell me what you think and don’t forget to subscribe for more fascinating content.
